Hi everyone, you may have noticed that it’s been quite a while since I have blogged on here. Shannon was really sick with a mono type virus and then I had influenza which just wiped me out, it was also tax time, and after several attempts at reconciliation, my marriage ended. Last week I started to get back into my groove 🙂 What else can I say?! Life happens and sometimes you just have to step back for a while.
Spring has finally sprung and I’m feeling pretty good!
While surfing, I came across a great first apartment checklist on the Bed Bath & Beyond website — I’ve saved it as I’m sure we’ll be needing it and thought I’d share it here –click on the moving box image to visit their webpage. Why would I need a first apartment checklist you ask!?? Well… 😀
After several college visits, Shannon chose her college. Shannon and her cousin will be attending school at the same campus so it was decided that they should share accommodations. That means we’ll all be apartment hunting soon and have already started appealing to family for first apartment furniture donations! My sister and I are thrilled and neither of us can believe in a few short months our babies will be away at school — it’s somehow easier knowing that they will have each other for friendship and support as they transition into their new lives.
Not confirmed yet but I’ve been told our goal race, a WHOLE FIVE K!! is on June 22 in Unionville. Me! Running 5K by the end of June is hard to believe and yet, I fully intend to give it my best shot. Who’d have thought I’d actually enjoy running — yet, so far so good! And the strange thing is I have more energy when we finish our runs, and am so so happy — what’s up with that??
Back to the race, I’ll have more details this week and am really hoping that Shannon and I will be participating as it would be my very first (and Shannon’s too!)
You’ll be happy to know that I am on week 16 of not smoking and have been patch-free along with twizzler/wine gum-free for the last 6 weeks. Thank you to everyone’s support!! I admit I had a few rough patches in April but have managed to stay in control and smoke-free. My waist line wasn’t quite so lucky, funny that I’m ok with that and will work to get back to “normal.”
May 10th is the day The Great Gatsby movie comes out in theatres. You can be sure I’ll be at the movies that weekend to see it!
I just finished reading the book for a second time. A classic American novel based in the roaring 20’s. One of my favourite time periods.
I have updated a few of the challenge pages and have added a monthly challenge page. I discovered a new challenge blog that revolves around the paper pumpkin kits!! Also new blogs for Monday challenges and Friday. I hope you’ll enjoy and participate or gain inspiration.
I’ll be posting some updates from Stampin’ Up! over the next few days. Also, if you’re participating the Spring Treasure Hunt — there are only a few days left to get your lists in. The May mystery hostess code has been posted on my sidebar and as an additional incentive, for this month, the hostess dollars have increased from $70 to $110 with a combined $400 worth of sales! More on that later in the week.
Other than that, not much going on in my little part of the world. Hope everyone is having a great weekend and out enjoying the amazing weather! If you’re looking for something to do, consider spending your Sunday like my daughter, and head out to Wonderland’s opening day!
