The week is once again flying past and I’ve been putting up an incredible fight against a head cold! Unfortunately, Wednesday it got the best of me and I’ve had a stuffy, achy, sneezy head for the 24 hours… “Pam! Call my Mum!” 🙂 Oh wait! I don’t have a “man cold” (lol), ok, never mind..
Yesterday was International Women’s Day.
2013 Theme: THE GENDER AGENDA: GAINING MOMENTUM
Over time and distance, the equal rights of women have progressed. We celebrate the achievements of women while remaining vigilant and tenacious for further sustainable change. There is global momentum for championing women’s equality.
A promise is a promise:
Time for action to end violence against women.
“There is one universal truth, applicable to all countries, cultures and communities: violence against women is never acceptable, never excusable, never tolerable.”
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
As a woman, I’m eternally grateful to the generations (and especially the strong women in my family) before me that fought to ensure I had opportunities in life. You have given me a voice to use, rights that I can assert, and choice.
To all women, everywhere, Thank you!
Sending out a huge congratulations to my sister, Zoe
For becoming a new Stampin’ Up! demonstrator! Yay!!
I take credit for getting her hooked on Stampin’ Up! and am really happy that she was able to join during SAB promotion so she could choose $194 worth of products for almost half the price. Here’s hoping she’ll consider starting a blog or fb page to showcase her amazing creations! 🙂
Last weekend, I had a chance to go to the new Costco in town. It was no different to any other one lol except it’s closer 🙂 Still, Zoe and I had fun. Afterwards, I came home and hubby and I went to the Pickering Flea Market — doesn’t sound very exciting does it? And yet, it’s one of the few places I know that has a british store where I can get..
Twiglets are my favourite snack and are actually pretty good for you. They are an acquired taste, and luckily for me, noone in the house likes them so they’re ALL mine!! 🙂
Let me think, what else happened this week?? Oh my goodness! How could I forget?? I received a box of goodies from Stampin’ Up! on Monday 🙂 Success!! Was able to sneak it down to my craft room before anyone saw and made the usual eye rolls and comments (I am NOT a hoarder of craft supplies! and Yes! I do need another stamp set! lol)
As you know, I wasn’t feeling well this week, so I watched the hockey game — they lost! It happens every time! For all those TML fans — it’s me causing the losses! I jinx them LOL
This weekend, Shannon is busy with friends. Once she wakes up! haha! She’ll be off for a sleepover. An empty house tonight, I’m getting used to it, not having her here. Only 5 1/2 months till she’ll be moving to college *insert nervous mother*
Last night she was out with friends, hubby and I ordered in from aZian.. I had spicy pad Thai! Yum!
I have a very busy weekend planned, I’m in my comfy clothes and will be crafting almost ALL weekend! Can you say, “Heaven!” 🙂
I am truly blessed. I make my living in accounting and I really enjoy working with the companies I do — the people are great! It’s always the people that make a company great! Don’t you think? And then, I come home to a bubbly, quirky daughter (I have 2 quirky daughters — they take after me 🙂 my oldest, Samantha, lives in Ottawa.) *Sam, come home and visit your mother!!* Once I’ve done some “chores” I feel guilt-free enough to spend time in my craft room getting lost in possibilities.
That’s all I have time to write about. I’ll leave you with some cute quotes I found in celebration of International Women’s Day:
God gave women intuition and femininity. Used properly, the combination easily jumbles the brain of any man I’ve ever met.
Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in high heels.
If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.
