Paper Crafting June 2018 Blog Hop

I hope you are enjoying our Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blog Hop featuring projects that are patriotic to the country the demonstrator lives in. Fellow demonstrators from all over Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and United States are participating so we have a wide array of fun projects to share with you! You may have arrived from Ginger’s blog. She had a fabulous project!

I decided to use Colorful Seasons stamp set for it’s maple leaf and the Happy Birthday thinlet.  Combining the Labeler Alphabet stamp set with the Bunch of Banners framelits allowed me to customize the card to specifically feature Canada and reaching it’s 151st year of commemoration.

A helpful note**  It almost looks like ghosting on some of the letters and after making three banners trying to be very careful, I finally looked on the stamp case and realized that that is actually how the stamps are.  Note to self — intentional imperfections are perfect and that’s just fine!

The multi-purpose adhesive sheets made it a snap to get the Happy Birthday out and stick it to the card.  Those sheets may become my new “go-to” for adhering shapes run through the Big-Shot!

I also LOVE the new glitter shimmer paper – no getting covered in glitter which was awesome and ran through the Big-Shot with no issues as all!  I’ve stayed away from the glitter papers in the past just because I end up wearing more of it than I want but not anymore!  They are back in my favourites 🙂

My photography skills need a little work and this card is really lovely, “lipstick lovely” in  person 🙂  Please add a comment and let me know what you liked about my design.
